Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebration

Categories:

Thank you to all the families who came and enjoyed the family event at 1st Wormley, some families camped whilst others attended on one or both of the days at Wormley HQ. Attendees of all ages enjoyed sunshine and showers, LOTS of crafts, games, campfires, a Jubilee Challenge, inflatables and crazy bikes. We held our AGM around the campfire and elected the group officials and welcomed new parent representatives. Four Rainbows were presented with their challenge badges, Les got his 20 years service award and Nathan received a very special thank you badge.

The event culminated in an afternoon tea for all as well as some VIP guests, neighbours, old friends of the groups, new friends and a Deputy Lieutenant of Hertfordshire, Karen Trew. Mrs Trew kindly dedicated the two Queen’s Green Canopy trees (silver birches) which we have planted – one for Scouting and one for Guiding. We look forward to them growing over the next few years. Lots of cakes, sandwiches and tea were consumed and a great time was had by all!

Massive thanks to all involved, especially Denise, Kathryn, Joy, Maria, Jane, Caroline, Helen (and husbands!), Les and Nathan.
